Food allergy-focused therapy supporting families at every stage of their journey

Hypervigilance. Anxiety. Dealing with stigma. These are all constants when it comes to living with food allergies. Haley-safe exists so that no family has to navigate it alone, building the emotional resilience and practical skills to move forward with strength and confidence.

Hi, I’m Haley.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate with specialized training in emotionally-focused therapy, I started Haley-safe because I believe the food allergy community deserves professional support from a practitioner that has the lived experience of maintaining the hypervigilance that accompanies life-threatening food allergies.

It’s one thing to study how these diagnoses may impact you and your family, but it’s something else to work with someone who pours over every food label, carries multiple EpiPens, and studies a server’s body language at restaurants to assess their level of understanding and diligence.

This world wasn't built with you in mind. And that’s why I’m inviting you to a space where you don’t have to explain the impact of food allergies. Whether you live with them or care for someone that does, I deeply understand the mental energy you expend on a daily basis to stay safe.

I approach my work with clients from a systemic perspective, utilizing Socio-Emotional Relationship Therapy (SERT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to support healing, connection and sustainable change. We will explore your beliefs about yourself, with intentional consideration of your unique identities, honoring the complexities of what makes you, you. Collaboration is at the heart of how I establish a therapeutic relationship and I aim to infuse hope and build trust from our first session. We’ll use goals as our guide to make progress towards change, growth and self-acceptance. I work with clients of any gender expression, race, size, sexual orientation, relationship model, culture, religion, age, and disability.

I earned a Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark College. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (R7929) and I am fortunate to be supervised by Lana Kim, PhD, LMFT in the State of Oregon. I trained in EFT at the Portland Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy in 2021 and completed advanced EFT training in 2022.
